The Xcel Pro Showdown at Supertubes is over for 2011, and it was Shaun Payne who overcame his
 older brother Ryan in the final, in the process ending his sibling’s hopes of claiming a hat-trick of titles
in the event. Squaring off in the final, Shaun managed to find the higher scores in the dying swell to snatch victory
and the first prize of R10 000 cash, a styling PU 51-30 Nixon watch and perhaps most importantly, a
coveted slot into the Von Zipper Superheat – which affords the winner a wildcard into the Billabong Pro J-Bay Dream Tour event scheduled for next month.   A cold front reached the South Coast on Thursday, south westerlies was blowing gale force, that bought big swell all along the coast. On the morning of Saturday, 28 May 2011, offshores pulled through and solid 8-10ft waves came grinding along the point breaks! Surfers were of course on! A cold front has reached early Thursday morning, gale force south westerlies and huge swell reached the east coast. By Saturday morning offshores finally pulled through and the waves were pumping! Check some frame grabs out. A video is coming soon!

It's Autumn in Southern Africa. Chilly offshores start to blow in the mornings on the coastlines, swell comes from the south more often for the point breaks and overall, things are improving, amping us for the winter to come! Local surfers are on the lefts and rights of some less crowded breaks in the area. Enjoy!

I recently started experimenting with the playback time in videos - Faster or slower. In this case its a video much faster than actual time. I was shooting for 25 minutes and made the video playback in 1 minute. The results are pretty cool.

Just a few clips, I put together to show the capabilities of this tiny camcorder.

We sure do have waves here in Africa!
